Why was Malcolm X suspended from the Nation of Islam?

Malcolm was suspended because he made a some extremist political comments referring to JFK's assassination. At that particular time Elijah Muhammad felt that because of the general American sensitivities towards President JFK, that any quotes from the NOI would be inappropriate. He therefore instructed all of his ministers to not mention the president's name in any of their lectures, nor to make any political statements pertaining to him. Malcolm chose to go against Mr. Muhammad's instructions because he was upset over his discovery that Elijah had fathered children with several of his young secretaries.
