The Tibet plateau, which is the highest average elevation in the world. It is also the largest plateau in China; and is located in the southwest. It area spreads across several provinces including the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), parts of Qinghai, Sichuan, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Ganshu and Yunnan. It also involves parts of other countries round China, including the Kingdom of Bhutan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghan, Tajikistan, Kyrghyzstan. Tibet plateau has a area about 2.5 million sq km (25 thousand billion sq mi) and its average elevation is about 4,000~5,000 meters (13 123~16 404 feet).
