What is a Precis map?

It's a map with a few details on it. Like you may have a photo of an area, and a precis map may be made from details on the photo.. usually an outline of the area showing only a few features eg road, moutain rage, river. It's more precise- which I think is where the name comes from??

That's how we make precis maps in geography anyways..
