In harvest moon tree of tranquility why can't you cross edge's rainbow after getting his letter?

I actually looked up this same answer, but it was because I forgot how to get to edge's rainbow and kept schlepping up Mt. Gelato the old fashioned way. You need to go to Brownie Ranch and take Alan's rainbow to get to Edge's rainbow to meet all the sprites. Hope that helps!
