50 percent plus 50 percent is the same as doubling?

If you have a number, for example, 100, and add 50 percent, this is equal to 100 + 50 = 150.

If you then increase the number 150 by 50 percent, you will get 150 + 75 = 225.


Therefore, this is not the same as doubling.
