The term "marketing mix" was first coined by Neil Borden in the 1950s. Borden, a professor of advertising, introduced the concept in a 1964 article, where he described it as a combination of various marketing elements and strategies to effectively reach and satisfy customers. The marketing mix concept later evolved into the well-known 4 Ps: Product, Price, Place, and Promotion.
