What are the advantages and disadvantages of witness testimony?

The advantages of eyewitness accounts are vivid description of the incident which helps the investigating authority in tracking the culprits. There are murder cases where no Survivor being left, the eyewitness accounts play pivotal role in settlement property, insurance claims.

There are certain disadvantages like the eyewitness accounts being faulty one, thereby making the case more complicated. Sometimes the eyewitness accounts may be biased, after the witness has been bribed to give accounts on the contrary,impairing the case of the suffered.
