She began her rule on the 20th June 1837 after her uncle, William IV died aged 71. Her rule ended on the 22nd January 1901 when she died aged 81. She is currently the longest reigning British monarch, followed by her great-great granddaughter, Elizabeth II who celebrates her 60 year reign on the 6th February 2012.
