Without knowing full details of the site and the location of the ANSUL equipment, there are 3 main reasons for an accidental discharge:
- The Automan unit is placed too close to a heat source and the compressed gas cartridges heated to a point where the foil seal burst (like a burst disc), setting off the system
- The automatic detection line wire passes through a cable clamp within the Automan unit. If this clamp is not set correctly and the two grub screws are not tightened correctly, the cable can slip and activate the system.
- If you have a disgruntled employee, they may have maliciously pulled the manual release mechanism. This is by far the most common reason for false activations.
