Are goldendoodles really non-shedding dogs

I have a golden doodle, and they say that they don't shed, but their hair gets so long it can be a mess. I'd just sugguest washing him regularly, brushing him at least daily and just taking good care of him. I take him to a groomer and its cut pretty much like a poodle, but the hair is long on the snout, ears, and tail. Good luck and love him much
