Where was the worlds first television broadcast?

The early days of television saw several experimental broadcasts in both the UK and US.

The first public and regular broadcasts were started in London by the BBC in 1929. It was a part time service but was linked to the sale of "Televisor" television sets to the public, so was available to any who purchased the equipment.
