Why is it that most people die somewhere near the month they were born in?

Statistically people have a 1 in 12 chance of having a shared birth/death date and a 1 in 365 chance of having their birth and death on the same day - its just "the odds"
However people (the living ones) tend to notice it mor e when these dates overlap and draw attention to the fact. This leads to a preferential awareness of those particular deaths and a seemingly higher incidence of the coincidence.
