How does women get pragnant?

Women become pregnant when a sperm cell from a male fertilizes an egg cell from a female. This typically occurs during sexual intercourse when sperm is ejaculated into the female's reproductive tract, traveling to meet the egg, usually released during ovulation. Once fertilized, the egg implants itself in the uterus, where it can develop into a fetus over approximately nine months.
