The Soviet Union, East Germany, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia ceased to exist entirely.

Cambodia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Benin, Yemen, Mozambique, Bulgaria, Somalia, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Republic of the Congo, Albania, and Angola continued to exist, but became non-communist.

Note these changes happened from 1989 to 1993. 1989 was just when it started.
