What are the precautionary measures in handling materials?

Wear protective gear, such as gloves or a biohazard suit.

Do NOT let the material touch you. Once in contact, remove contaminated clothing and discard by burning or just discard it. Then, rinse off in a decontamination shower.

Make certain the material is properly contained in a proper biohazard containment vessel.

There are other procedures that you could follow, but alas, they elude me at this time.
