Depends on if you need them or not. Amphetamines are usually prescribed for people with ADD or ADHD. It's supposed to help them calm down and be able to focus more.

Now if you're talking about taking them when you don't need them, it's quite the opposite. I was just at a party last night and I took an amphetamine pill along with some of my friends out of curiOSity. Two of my friends got a loopy, euphoric high. It made them crazy and real loose and mellow. My other friend got pretty much wiped out by the pill. She was dead tired, and completely out of it. She would just lay on the floor and talk a bunch of crazy non-sense that we couldn't understand. She wasn't able to get up or stand up at all.

I, on the other hand, had the weirdest reaction. After I took it, I didn't feel any different until one of my friends pointed out that my eyes were very dilated and my pupils were HUGE. Soon after that, I started to feel shaky. My hands would shake if I held them out. However, I was not loopy or crazy or out of control. About 2 hours after I took the pill, I began to feel bad. I felt tired and dragged down, like all my energy had been drained. I felt nauseous, and had no appetite. I pretty much stood in the corner and wished to go home.

The effects of Amphetamine usually last about 6 hours. For me and my friends, however, we got about 4.5 to 5 hours out of one pill. We all were fine after we had taken them. I did have some side effects that were common with the pill, though. I had (and still have now) dry mouth, a headache, and loss of appetite.

So reactions to a standard Amphetamine pill can vary depending on if you need it or not, and your tolerance for it. It's a great medicine for people who have ADD and ADHD. But I would not recommend taking it if you don't need it. There are very serious risks involved with taking drugs that have not been prescribed.
