What are the differences between the twenties and the fifties?

For the sake of argument I'm assuming we are talking about the 1920's and the 1950's.

Other than the major technological and medical improvements in the intervening 30's and 40's, the main difference will be that the majority of people born in the 1950's are still alive and have not experienced a World War.
