How do you speak with spirits using a pendulum?

You use the pendulum in the same way as you would use a Ouija board. Really anything can be used, necklace, key-chain. Anything with a long string and solid object on the end. You proceed to ask yes or no questions only to the spirit, you can say if the answer if yes, please move my (insert object here) if the answer is no keep it still. But make sure you have contacted a spirit first, and they are willing to talk, or else all your answers will become a big no.
