What was Minnesota's population in 1849?

The 2005 estimate was 5,205,091. The 2000 census recorded a population of 4,919,479 in Minnesota. The last official estimate was a population of 5,266,214 in July 2009. The 2010 census numbers should be available the summer or 2011.
