In 1994 GM changed the water pump to a reverse flow water pump along with a lot of things. The rest is right out of the Chilton. But, I own a 95 so believe me it is true.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Disengage the wiring harness from the cooling fan assembly, then remove the assembly from the vehicle. 3. Drain the engine cooling system the engine cooing system, removing the block drain plug and the knock sensor to assure the proper draining. Reinstall the drain plug and knock sensor, as soon as the system is empty. 4. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses from the water pump assembly. 5. Remove the heater hose assemble from the water pump and from the throttle body. 6. Disengage the coolant sensor wiring harness, then reposition the ignition coil and bracket assembly. 7. Remove the shorter water pump retaining bolt from the center of each pump mating flange, then remove the longer pump bolts from either side of the center bolts. 8. Carefully remove the water pump assembly and gasket along with the pump shaft coupling.

the water pump is in the front of the engine just remove the belt and the screws out
