What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting other email address?

• You can automatically sort your mail. School emails go to one address, work goes to another and personal things go to a third. If the people at work only ever send to one address, you don't have to sort through a bunch of birthday e-cards to find that report you need.
• There are some times when you have to give your email address to sources that are less secure than others. If you only give your secondary address at these times, all of your spam will be filtered into that one account.

Some disadvantages to having multiple email addresses are:

• You have to check all of them. You can't check just one email address a day because it's possible that you will receive an urgent message in all of them.
• You have to keep them straight and you have to remember the passWords to all of them.
