What is the difference between amplifiers and woofers?

An amplifier "amplifies" sound to create more clear, and sometimes, a louder sound. Subwoofers strengthen levels to create a stronger pulse from the sub and bass sounds in your player. An amplifier supplies sound to a woofer, but a woofer can act without an amplifier.
