How do you unlock a 2001 740 BMW?

If you have the cars original key, and it has a good battery in it, just press the remote button. Other than that, I may suggest you call the dealer.

Have you tried just inserting the key in the driver side door and turning it? That's how you open the door with a key when the key battery is dead.
