What causes convulsions in some kids in fever?

Convulsions are not common when there is high fever in babies. Most babies are seen showing symptoms like headache, shivering, dehydration, weakness etc. However convulsions can be seen in some kids if the body temperatures climb very high between 103 F and 106 F. Parents must consult the doctor immediately.
