Why did armistice day become remembrance day?

I'm just wondering if you are mixing Remembrance Day up with Remembrance Sunday.

In the United Kingdom, although two minutes of silence is observed on 11 November itself, the main observance is on the second Sunday of November, Remembrance Sunday. Ceremonies are held at local war memorials. Along with a big parade in London.
