From my sources yes..but it seems very difficult because

1. You must first Contact an attorney or some sort of local children services department to obtain counsel. Often, a minor is provided legal counsel at no charge in the case of emancipation. (apparently weather this is true i dont know)

2.Petition (its a piece of paper im pretty sure you have to get lots of people to sign and when people sign it they agree with what you are saying) for the right to be emancipated. Several things must be proven before a judge will accept the petition and grant the request. The age at which emancipation is possible varies by state. The typical age is between 14 and 16.

3.Prove financial independence (like pay slips ect.) from parents or legal guardians. A minor must be able to prove a legal source of income (you cant sell drugs it must be a real job). In cases the judge will want the minor to provide her own medical insurance.

4.Provide documentation that you are not living with parents or legal guardians (not sure how important this is considering at an age your not allowed to not live with your parents until your 18. So I think this means you must provide proof of where you going to stay). In most cases, this living arrangement must be approved by the parents (kinda silly considering when you are an emancipated and you can go and move where ever you like within theory). Attend school or a General Education Degree program.( which mean ....yep you still have to go to school and or once you are emancipated i do believe you can enroll yourself in another school if you so choose)

5. Enlist in the military or have a legal marriage. These are two additional options for a minor who wishes to be emancipated. (but at a young age you must still get your parents permission)

6.Attend court, the judge will review the petition and make a decision in the best interest of the minor.( and they will probably so no so you must make the best impression of a responsible young adult, and give the illusion that you can look after yourself)

and a warning once are an emancipated minor you are an adult in the eyes of the law

Good Luck i plan on trying to become an emancipated minor as well

Answer:I don't know your circumstances but if this is about abuse or something like that the judge will most likely move custody over to a relative.

You have to be 14 years and 9 months old to get a job at a factory or shop.

You will have a social worker watching you like a hawk to see that you make more than enough money and can take care of yourself. She will want to see that you have a job and a place to stay before the emancipation has gone through.
