How did Annabella die in gathering blue?

Annabella is an old lady from Gathering Blue, she makes the dyes that Kira needs to recreate the robe. Kira gets the blue when Matt(the boy) goes to a far away town to get the blue. On the way there and back, he finds out many details that Kira needs to know about. Like, how her father is alive, and who planned on killing him, and things like that.
