buy from an individual,not a car lot.always check for worn brake pedal (not good).clean white exhaust on start up is great sign of a sound engine.be sure all tires match in size wear and brand. always check for rust on under carrage,dirty or greasy engine compartment.if a small car,dont get one with a trailor hitch! chances are it has pulled its weight far enough.
