Why is peace good?

Peace is simply an absence of war or other hostilities, an agreement or a treaty to end hostilities, freedom from quarrels and disagreement, away from all the troubles and politics. Peace is very difficult to achieve now a days because of the greedy human behavior in countless numbers of people, this could be changed only if we can control our temptation to gain power. Peace does not last for a long period of time because of the politics and quick changes of behavior in humans. So why is it good? ObviOSly because there is no hatred, no quarrels and issues but only happiness and harmony allover the world.
