The Mayflower ran out of fresh water during its voyage to the New World in the fall of 1620. After a long journey of approximately 66 days, the ship experienced a shortage due to the extended time spent at sea. To address the lack of fresh water, the Pilgrims eventually resorted to using seawater and rationing what little fresh water remained, which posed significant challenges during their early days in Plymouth.
