What is methemagenic?

Methemagenic refers to the ability of certain substances to induce the formation of methemoglobin in the blood, a condition known as methemoglobinemia. Methemoglobin is a form of hemoglobin that cannot effectively bind oxygen, leading to reduced oxygen delivery to tissues.
