There are many outward manifestations of intelligence that make it possible to say a person is intelligent. Following are a few:

  • When she can participate in a conversation about current events with meaningful insight.
  • When they are curious about the world, its people, how things work, how things evolved, new scientific discoveries, history, etc., and explore available resources for new information on an ongoing basis.
  • When a person is conversant on several topics.
  • When a person listens to others during conversations and then offers their own opinion, respectfully.
  • When after listening to a good argument, or learning of new data, they are able to modify their opinion on the basis of analyzing this new information.
  • When a person uses a good vocabulary, complete sentences and is respectful of the comments offered by others.
  • When they ask questions and incorporate the answers into future actions.
  • When they are able to learn from their mistakes.
  • When they are outwardly interested in and knowledgeable about the world around them, its people and its issues.
