How long should you water new grass?

A average sprinkler will apply about one inch of water per hour. New grass should need about one half hour of watering. If it is puddling shorten the time, too dry, increase a little. Do it early in the morning to avoid burning from the sun and evening watering will invite mold. Water daily until established. Hope this helps.
