What is the value of a 1951 US cent?

1951 is a common date and can still (very) occasionally be found in circulation.

Numismedia lists the following approximate retail values as of 03/2010:

No mint mark (Philadelphia):

Very worn condition - $0.05

Moderately worn - $0.06

Slightly worn - $0.07

Almost no wear - $0.15

Uncirculated - $0.52 to $9.38 depending on quality

"D" mint mark (Denver):

Very worn condition - $0.05

Moderately worn - $0.06

Slightly worn - $0.08

Almost no wear - $0.16

Uncirculated - $0.35 to $8.75

"S" mint mark (San Francisco):

Very worn condition - $0.05

Moderately worn - $0.07

Slightly worn - $0.09

Almost no wear - $0.21

Uncirculated - $0.52 to $8.75

My temptation would be to hang onto it anyway, simply because you don't see that many "wheatie" cents anymore.
