Will a male dog accept a new puppy into its home?

In my expereince no. My pups were 5 weeks old when they met their dad. They had all been left alone (mom, dad and pups) before because he seemed to love them. Well I came home today to find them all dead. The father killed them all. Why? I don't know, we think because of territorial issues. It is heart breaking.
