Most of them were killed in combat. The exception to this is Antinous, the first suitor to die from an arrow to the throat.

  • Antinous dies unsuspecting, from an arrow to the throat while he is about to drink wine from a gold cup.
  • Eurymachus, after pleading with Odysseus, is killed in the charge, as Odysseus shoots an arrow through his nipple into his liver.
  • Amphinomous, drawing his sWord and charging Odysseus is killed as Telemachus plunges his spear into his back through his chest.
  • Odysseus kills many more suitors one at a time with his arrows before running out of arrows.
  • After missing Odysseus and his allies with their spears, Odysseus and his allies throw a round a spears back:
  • Odysseus kills Demoptolemus
  • Telemachus kills Euryades
  • Eumaeus kills Elatus
  • the stockman kills Pisander.
  • After a second volley of the spears from the suitors, Odysseus and his allies volley back again killing more:
  • Odysseus kills Eurydamas
  • Telemachus kills Amphimedon
  • Eumaeus kills Polybus
  • the stockman kills Ctessipus, son of Polytherses.
  • the son of Damastor is killed by Ulysses with a spear in close range.
  • Leocritis son of Evenor is struck by Telemachus in the belly.
  • The rest of the suitors are slaughtered as they cower in fear from the deadly group.
