Who was the President of the Central African Republic in 2016?

Catherine Samba-Panza was the interim President of the Central African Republic at the start of 2016.

Faustin-Archange Touadéra became the President on March 30.

Samba-Panza took office on 2014 January 23, serving until 2016 March 30. She is the first woman to hold this post.

Touadéra was previously a professor of Mathematics at the University of Bangui. He served as Prime Minister from 2008 January 22 to 2013 January 17. After his election as president, France agreed to remove soldiers who had been keeping peace during the continued religious strife and civil war. Touadéra has been challenged in restoring order during his presidency.
