How can scavenge fires be extinguished?

The main two things that should be done in case of a scavenge fire are to minimize the fire and to prevent it from making damages to other machinery parts. For this the engine should be brought to dead slow.The fuel supply should be cut off.The lube oil supply should be increased in order to prevent piston seizure.Close the drain valves in the scavenge space so that the fire will not be spreading to other parts.If it is a minor fire,it will burn out inside it without making any harm.If it is a major one,then normal cooling should be applied.Turning gear should be engaged.And then the fire extinguishing medium should be applied through the fittings in the scavenge trunk.The extinguishing medium will be either CO2 or dry powder.
