How does the rinnegan work?

So rinnegan is one of the three dolijutsu's (rinnegan sharingan and byakugan), It's also the most powerful one, which is a combination of Uchiha DNA and the Shanju DNA which combined gives you the DNA of Rikudo Sennin who was the person who discovered chakara and defeated the jubi, and the strongest ninja ever to live in the Naruto world...
