What are the negative effects of fashion?

First of all Fashion promotes wasting money that could be spent on more important things like feeding those who are starving in 3rd world countries, charities, supporting the poor, Breast cancer research...

Second of all Fashion sets an unattainable standard for us. We all want to be beautiful and glamorous like the men and women in magazines and so we buy all the newest clothes and strut around. Yet still we don't look like the people in the magazines. This leads to low self esteem. And an over all crapping feeling.

Also, in school, if one of the kids doesn't have all the new "fashionable" clothes they are picked on and bullied.
