What is silhouette in fashion?

A silhouette is a black filled in outline of a picture, so it means the excat same thing in the fashion world. Silhouettes are genrally used to place deisgnes on when comparing what/ and what not to use in shows, or whether it just doesn't look good and it needs to be scrapped.
