Why was the land war more difficult for the us than the war at sea of 1812?

Sea war you can just blow a hole in the enemy ship and they'll sink, and you have a good view around you.

Land war, you have to have enough men to fend off enemies or enough men to penetrate the enemy base, and you need tactics which makes it more complicated than sea war.
