What happened to the English colonists of Roanoke Island?

Nobody knows. People have tried to figure it out since it happened, but still no one can figure it out. Recently scientists have come up with a new theory. That a hurricane came through and swept them away. No buildings were left either, so this new theory makes sense, but still, no one can really say for sure since no one was there. But the most reasonable is that they were hit by a hurricane.
