Unfortunately, this Jeep requires that you take out the engine mounting bolts and raise the engine a little so that you can slide the pan back and out. It is a much bigger job than the answer below implied.
=====================================
Assuming it is leaking? or else why bother?
Buy new gasket from parts store
drain oil
remove oil pan
scrape off old gasket and clean mating surfaces
put new gasket on pan
align holes with several bolts before tightening down
once all bolts tight and drain plug back in change filter while under vehicle
fill with oil
done
- You don't HAVE to remove the engine mount bolts to remove the oil pan. It may make it slightly easier, or may just be more time consuming. Other than that, the above answer is spot on.
