How have the War on Drugs and the War on Terror undermined personal rights?

Both the War on Drugs and the War on Terror have created controversies having to do with privacy. For example, the War on Drugs loosened what is considered unreasonable search and seizure, while the policies of the War on Terror have resulted in many well known cases of the US government spying on its own citizens.
