To answer this question... just think of all the same reasons people commit crimes today... Remember people don't change... and the reasons why people do things don't change either..

Reasons to commit crime:

  • They are on drugs (narcotics or alcohol)
  • They want or need money to survive.
  • Hate authority: racial, religious, personal reasons
  • They are in a gang or peer pressure.
  • They are bored.
  • To protect yourself or someone else.
  • They are hungry there are massive food shortages.
  • There was an opportunity (because it is too easy, risk vs. reward, desire and opportunity)
  • Wages in factories is extremely low and the work is extremely hard and long. It is just easier to steal.
