What was the prophet Jeremiah occupation?

Jeremiah was called to be a prophet before he was born. In Jeremiah 1:6 it is written, "Ah, Soverign Lord," I said. "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child."

This tells us that he was young when he began being a prophet.

His father was Hilkiah who was a priest. Jeremiah probably had no occupation due to his young age and helping his father with his priestly duties. The Bible makes no mention of an occupation.
