The modern day African countries that were colonized by the United Kingdom include The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia*, South Sudan, Sudan, and Egypt.

*- Somalia was colonized by both Italy and the United Kingdom; the Italians took the part south of the Horn of Africa and the British the north/west.
