How does energy affect the world?

Most of the world's energy, that is, electricity, basically, is generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). And transport and industry runs on oil. Burning fossil fuels releases extra carbon that has been stored away safely for millions of years. This carbon is not part of the normal carbon cycle. It is extra, which will bring the global warming.
