Heracles, also known as Hercules in Roman mythology, had a mortal father named Amphitryon. Amphitryon was the king of Tiryns and a warrior. Heracles' mother, Alcmene, was married to Amphitryon, but Heracles was the son of Zeus, who had disguised himself as Amphitryon to conceive Heracles.
